José Santiago Inc. is the oldest, largest, and most advanced full-line foodservice distributor in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. As the primary distributor, José Santiago, Inc. receives foodservice products directly from the world’s leading manufacturers and producers and delivers them to foodservice operations in our own modern fleet of trucks. Our quality products deserve the best service, and at José Santiago, Inc., with over a century of experience, we have perfected our service philosophy. Our 140,0000 square feet of physical plant is a model of efficiency, from its dry, frozen, and refrigerated storage areas to its direct access loading area for our large fleet of 60 delivery trucks.

All operations are fully computerized, with "FoodDISTRIBUTE" from Advanced Foodsystems Inc., a software program designed for foodservice distribution operating on an HP integrated data processing system.

To help assure quality, all services are concentrated in one location. In addition to our state-of-the-art warehouse, our modern distribution center holds executive offices, a customer service center, sales, credit, purchasing, and finance offices, an on-site kitchen for product testing, our Equipment Dispensing Program, and a Foodservice Cash and Carry. Uninterrupted service to our clients is assured through a one megawatt emergency electrical generator, water reservoir, fuel service, and repair shops.

From the time our founder, José Santiago Fernández, came to Puerto Rico from Spain and established a grocery store in San Juan in 1902, our company has been identified with quality.

Under his astute direction, José Santiago e Hijo Successor grew into a major metropolitan food distribution company. In 1950, his son Juan Angel Santiago Mújica continued the tradition of quality and redirected operations to the foodservice industry in Puerto Rico.

Today, with the same dedication and under the direction of the founder’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the company supplies the finest foodservice products throughout Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
